Afghan Thriller win Nepal, West Indies beat England




Cricket lovers saw two thriller matches in one day in U-19 World Cup.  Nepal faces Afghanistan in a match.  In the other match, England entered the field against the West Indies.

Nepal won the thriller match against Afghanistan yesterday in South Africa.  After winning the toss and opting to bat in East London, Afghanistan were bowled out for 145 runs.  They managed to play 40.1 overs in a 50 over match.

In response, Nepal lost the ninth wicket with 2 runs remaining to win. That means 2 runs are needed to win, and 1 wicket is in hand.  But in the end, Nepal won by hitting the boundary.

AM Ghazanfar scored the highest 34 runs for Afghanistan.  Captain Nasser Khan Marufkhali scored 31 runs.  Nepal's bowler Akash Chand picked up 5 wickets for 34.

Captain Dev Khanel scored a fifty for Nepal.  He played the highest innings of 58 runs for the team in 7 boundaries.  Deepak Bohara scored 27 runs.  Afghan bowler Faridun Doatzai took 3 wickets.

West Indies beat England by 2 wickets in the other match of the day.  After losing the toss and batting, England were all out for 192 after playing 46.3 overs.  In response, West Indies lost 7 wickets for 156 runs.  Nathan Edward and Tariq Edward drew the match by scoring 36 runs off 32 balls in the eighth wicket.  Although the entire contribution is Nathan's.  But Tariq could not win the team.  He got out with the score tied.

Finally, Nathan won the team by hitting the boundary.  He did not get a fifty for 1 run.  He was unbeaten on 49 runs off 80 balls.  Captain Stephen Pascal played the highest innings of 58 runs for the team.
