Asif Mahtab Utsha, a part-time teacher of philosophy department of BRAC University, alleged that students are being brainwashed by discussing transgender in a chapter of history and social science book of class 7 at the event. At that time, he protested by tearing the pages of the 'Story of Sharifa' in the chapter on similarities and differences between people in the seventh grade book.
Wide discussion and criticism started on the social media about the matter. He said in a Facebook status that Asif Mahtab has been informed by BRAC University on Sunday night (January 21) not to attend classes.
