Inter Milan won the Italian Super Coppa title for the third time in a row thanks to the last minute goal of Argentine World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez. Milan won the title for the eighth time after beating Napoli 1-0 in the final of the season.

Napoli became a team of 10 when striker Giovanni Simiwan was shown a red card (twice yellow card) in the 60th minute of playing at Al Awal Park in Saudi Arabia. Martinez took advantage of that opportunity in the extra time of the match. In the 91st minute, Martinez shook Napoli's net by shooting the ball with intense anger from Benjamin Pavard's low cross.

"I am very proud," Martinez said after the match. We were knocked out of the Italian Cup. That's why I wanted to win the Super Copa. It was very difficult. We could not rest even a day. That's why we weren't that sharp. But I am proud of the team.
